Wage increase for scaffolders: Finally more money for hard work!

A breath of fresh air has arrived in the scaffolding industry in the Neumarkt district. From November 2025, the 63 scaffolders in the region can expect a wage increase of 7.5 percent. This increases the basic wage to 19.25 euros per hour. An experienced journeyman can look forward to around 225 euros more per month, which makes the job on the scaffolding both financially and tasty, having to brave the constantly changing weather conditions.

The activities of scaffolders should not be underestimated. They are crucial for facade painting, roofing, facade insulation and even for the renovation of church towers. They are also used in hot and cold weather - a remarkable achievement that is now recognized by the new collective agreements. A further wage increase is on the agenda for autumn 2026, which should further support this development, it is reported Neumarkt Current.

Attractive training allowances

There is also positive news for future scaffolders. From November 2025, training allowances will increase to 1,125 euros in the first year, 1,300 euros in the second year and 1,550 euros in the third year of training. This not only increases the incentive to learn this profession, but also shows the industry's growth ambitions in order to attract new skilled workers. From January 2026, the minimum wage will be increased to at least 14.35 euros per hour, with a further increase to 14.90 euros in 2027, as reported by Scaffolding crafts reported.

The term of the new collective agreement, which came about after two years of negotiations, ends on October 31, 2027. An important goal is to increase the attractiveness of the scaffolding trade. In addition to the wage increases, a collective summer loss allowance will also be introduced in the future, which will help companies to remain operational during the hot season. Applications can be made between May 1st and August 31st, with companies receiving 75 percent of hourly wages reimbursed.

Additional benefits and improvements

The industry has also adapted to climate and weather conditions. The definition of extreme weather conditions is based on existing rules to protect the safety and health of workers. In addition, an increase in the supplementary pension by 10 percent is agreed, which is intended to strengthen the long-term financial security of the workers.

Overall, the scaffolding industry in the Neumarkt district is well positioned thanks to the improvements mentioned. It remains to be seen how these developments will affect worker performance and motivation in the future, but the first steps are promising. Who knows, perhaps the scaffolding industry will soon become the new trendy profession in the region - there's something on the horizon!
