TSV Weilach celebrates promotion – a new beginning after years of struggle!
TSV Weilach celebrated promotion to the district class on Wednesday evening with a triumphant 4-0 win against TSV Schiltberg. In front of almost 1,700 enthusiastic spectators in Aresing, a long ordeal ended for the club, which had repeatedly failed in relegation games since 2018. The euphoria in the stadium could hardly be contained: after the final whistle there was a storm of the stadium, with fans celebrating the victory with flags and a megaphone. Leo Solich, one of the three player-coaches, shared his joy at the tremendous enthusiasm of the fans and the sense of community among the club members who supported the club in difficult times.
“We have finally put the unpleasant chapter behind us,” said Solich. Over the past five years, TSV Weilach has repeatedly struggled with not taking advantage of its chances in relegation games. Now this success is being celebrated extensively. The Weilach sports center was the scene of the exuberant celebrations, which lasted well into the night and will continue in the coming days.
Celebrations and plans
The club had a special surprise in store for its members: a “climb car” was organized to drive through Weilach and the surrounding communities. The anticipation of the new season in the district class, which will take place again after a 15-year break, is already noticeable. TSV Weilach is optimistic about the future and is planning, among other things, a big graduation party and a possible trip to Mallorca.
The last games in the district and A classes also took place this week. In the district class, the leaders SF Bachern were able to secure their championship with a home win against SV Ried. The pursuers DJK Gibenhofen, who collected 30 points in the second half of the season, also won their game against SV Waidhofen and therefore remain serious competitors. Wulfertshausen and Schiltberg did everything they could to stay in the league, but it will be a tough fight for them.
A look at the competition
In the A class, SV Ottmaring leads with 69 points, while their pursuer TSV Sielenbach is close on their heels. The tension in the last few days of the game is palpable with the decisive games. Even though TSV Weilach can now celebrate in the district class, the competition does not remain idle. Coaches and players from the other teams are optimistic about the future of their teams, while TSV Weilach is now preparing for the challenges of the new season.
