In recent years, the sports badge has taken on great importance in Schrobenhausen, and this year's campaign took place under new auspices. Sigi Schmucker, who launched the sports program many years ago, had a clear goal: to motivate people of all ages to exercise and to give them awards for their achievements. However, this year's event was smaller and more spontaneous than in previous years. The reason for this is a transition in the organization: Malle and Stefan Lesny have taken over the baton from Sigi Schmucker and his team and are continuing the successful program.
Dates and offers
A total of three training and acceptance dates were offered in 2023, focusing on the last weeks of June. Anyone interested could take part on every Friday between June 16 and 30, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the municipal sports grounds. For a small fee of just 5 euros, participants received their certificate and badge, which had to be paid on site. School&CollegeList adds that only athletic disciplines were on offer.
The swimming test could take place during training times in the neighboring pool. Alternatively, there was the option of completing the course on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the water rescue service or in the outdoor pool with Sigi Schmucker. Particularly noteworthy was the 20 km cycling competition on June 23, 2023, which took place on the edge of the forest behind the Sommerau junction and required helmet use for safety reasons.
Handover of certificates and outlook
The certificate presentation is scheduled for Friday, October 13, 2023, in the SSV home. If necessary, the certificates can also be sent by post if an addressed and stamped envelope is enclosed. In addition, pre-registration by email was encouraged to make planning easier; however, this was not absolutely necessary.
With this new team and the continued concept, Malle and Stefan Lesny offer promising perspectives for the future of the sports badge in Schrobenhausen. The successfully organized campaign showed that even smaller campaigns can have a big impact and that the joy of sport is the focus. The athletes are already looking forward to the next challenges - because the path to the next certificate is already in sight!
