Fire brigade saves 1.20 meter long snake made of scared apartment!

On Thursday evening, the fire brigade had an unusual effort in Waidhofen an der Donau. Around 2:40 p.m., concerned residents noticed an approximately 1.20 meter long snake that had nestled in the stairwell of an apartment. While the residents were visibly scared, the Waidhofen fire brigade was alerted to clarify the situation and ensure security. The concern resulted from ignorance of the type of snake that had entered the apartment - estimated about eight meters.

The fire brigade was careful to avoid possible dangers. After an internet research and the exchange with a knowledgeable colleague, the all -clear was finally given: it was a \ “relatively large grass snake \”, which is known for being non -toxic. But what makes the grass snake so special? As schlangen-in-deutschland.de, this snake is widespread in Germany and usually occurs near standing waters. With a coloring from gray to black on the top and a white to dark -spotted underside, it is quite pretty to look at. The grass snake can be up to two meters long and uses a bad -smelling secretion to defend it when it feels threatened. Despite these defense mechanisms, it is completely harmless to humans.

In the case of the missing snake, the firefighters captured it into a box with a broomstick and then brought into an adjacent forest where it was released. The possible cause of her unpleasant visit could have been an open door that made it easier for the snake to access the apartment.

snakes often have a bad image, but they are fascinating animals. There are around 3,500 different species worldwide, and in Germany there are only six species known, of which only two are poisonous. The diversity makes our domestic natural spaces all the more appealing and reminds us of how important a respectful way of dealing with nature is.
