Ekaterina Leonova, the charming professional dancer and “Let’s Dance” star, has caused a stir in recent years. Although she moved to Munich in 2021, her roots remain strongly connected to Cologne. After 13 years in the Rhine metropolis, she gave up her job in Munich because it could not be reconciled with her commitments to “Let’s Dance” and other engagements. Nevertheless, she holds on to her apartment in Munich, which she describes as an “expensive storage space,” even though she rarely spends time there. The 37-year-old describes Munich as “beautiful” – she is impressed by the green city charm, the impressive architecture and the cleanliness. So the decision to move was no coincidence. Nevertheless, she often avoids the city for work because she is usually on the move. This corresponds to her lifestyle, because she has been part of the popular dance show “Let’s Dance” since 2013 and has already helped three celebrity candidates win during this time. However, Bavarian cuisine is not entirely to her liking: Leonova has intolerances and therefore forgoes many traditional dishes, including beer, which is very popular in this country. She has little to gain from Bavarian gastronomy, particularly without alcohol, as she said in an interview with Evening newspaper revealed.
Career and future plans
The year 2025 could be a turning point for Ekaterina. She not only won the “Let’s Dance” final alongside Diego Pooth, but is also already thinking about future steps. Although she can imagine moving away from Munich at some point, she currently has no concrete plans. Her emotional connection to Cologne is strong; she not only studied here, but also celebrated her rise to TV stardom.
