Safe paths for cyclists: New cycle path between Hausham and Miesbach!

There will soon be an exciting new development for cyclists in the municipality of Hausham. The cycle path alongside the road on the B 307 will be extended by around 750 meters. This project was launched on November 15, 2025 to create safer traffic conditions and a continuous cycling infrastructure between Agatharied and Miesbach. Mayor Jens Zangenfeind emphasizes the great importance of this connection, which is crucial for the safety of cyclists.

The planned cycle path leads from the existing route to the breeding association and further to Kleinthal to Miesbach. However, a parallel cycle path over Haidmühl cannot replace the existing route, which is why this expansion was given a high priority. A big thank you goes to the Schaberl family, who made part of their property available for the project, which is essential for its implementation.

Financing and construction planning

The expected construction costs of around one million euros will be borne entirely by the federal government. This is possible because the construction and maintenance of cycle paths on federal highways are not funded but are 100% financed by the federal government. This ensures that the project is integrated into ongoing efforts to improve cycling infrastructure in Germany. These efforts are not only noticeable locally, but also contribute to achieving the federal government's climate protection goals. The project is scheduled to start next year, although implementation depends on the clarification of nature conservation issues.

Municipalities are increasingly relying on cycling as an important part of the mobility mix in Germany. In 2025, funding will remain at the previous level, with a minimal increase in financial resources to continuously improve and support cycling. This development will be particularly important for the region, where cycling has now become a popular means of transport.

Further measures are planned to take account of the increasing number of cyclists. There are no plans to close the road during construction work, which makes day-to-day reconstruction easier. In a region where cycling is becoming increasingly popular, it is important that the infrastructure keeps pace.

In summary, it can be said that the municipality of Hausham is showing good hands with this project. Investing in a safe and well-developed cycling infrastructure is not only necessary for the future, but also sensible in order to meet the needs of citizens and promote sustainable mobility.
