Miesbach mobility concept: setting the course for the future of mobility!
The mobility concept for the Miesbach district is on the home stretch. In a meeting, Anna Walleitner, the new employee in the district office's mobility team, presented the progress. “Concrete measures will be developed by the end of July 2025,” she reported. Florian Kausch, who has led the team since March, emphasized that the final report will be completed in August and September and will be presented to the district development committee in October. These are exciting times for transportation planning in the district.
The framework conditions that are defined in a mobility concept also show how important mobility is for our society. The focus is on making transport more environmentally friendly and sustainable without restricting people's mobility. Information from umweltbundesamt.de shows that urban transport is often responsible for air pollution and noise. The goal is to find innovative solutions that improve the quality of life.
The mobility day and public participation
A highlight will be the mobility day on November 21, 2025 at the Miesbach high school. From 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., those interested can get to know the mobility concept and find out what the Miesbach district is planning for its citizens in the future. Josef Bogner, a member of the FW, suggested including other places in the district in order to increase acceptance. Andrea Ladewig and District Administrator Olaf von Löwis from the CSU are positive about the proposal, but note that organizational challenges must be taken into account.
The involvement of the population is a central aspect that the mobility concept takes into account. A survey on citizens' mobility behavior took place in summer 2024. In this way, the concept can be specifically adapted to regional needs, as explained on mobilikon.de. A mobility concept should always include a public participation process and be based on an inventory in order to lay the foundation for the next steps.
Sustainable mobility in focus
The concept for the Miesbach district not only represents reactive planning, but is also intended to be a vision for the future. The focus is on objectives such as the promotion of alternative drive concepts and the analysis of different types of transport such as walking and cycling as well as local public transport. A holistic approach is recommended that takes into account factors such as demographic change, climate protection and cost efficiency.
With the upcoming presentation of the mobility report in the district development committee and the mobility day, the Miesbach district is well positioned to sustainably improve the mobility behavior of its citizens. It remains exciting to see what concrete measures will be implemented and what impulses citizens can contribute.
