Miesbach's bus transport: million investment decided for new solution!
There is news in the area of bus transport in the Miesbach district: from November it will be operated on a public basis. In its deliberations, the district council decided on the third best option of four variants that were discussed as part of the local transport plan. The committee made this decision in view of financial bottlenecks and the need to ensure a sustainable mobility offer. Loud Mercury The district council members had different opinions about the different options, but in the end the majority voted for financially viable option C.
The return of the concessions by Regionalverkehr Oberbayern GmbH for the bus routes in the district will also cause a change. The last lines are scheduled to expire in October 2027, and the tender for the routes will last for a maximum of seven years. This means that regular service is expected to begin in November 2027. The cost structure is particularly interesting: Variant B was budgeted at 5.5 million euros, while variant C will only cost 4.1 million euros, which represents a significant increase compared to the current expenditure of 1.1 million euros.
The different variants in detail
Four variants were put up for discussion in the district council. Variant A corresponds to the local transport plan and offers a comprehensive solution. Variant B reduces the clock speed by 20 percent, while variant C is even reduced by 40 percent, which determined the choice for many. The current offer is already between variants C and D, with variant D having a discount of around 25 percent.
The vote on the future bus route also revealed the efforts of the district council members to find a solution that meets the needs of the citizens. While some argued for a more comprehensive solution, the administration rated variant C as the most feasible to ensure initial improvements in the offer.
Reflection on the change
In times of change and challenges, the effort to reach everyone and involve everyone in decisions is more important than ever. The same could be said of the words in the Bible: “How can we kindly and persistently invite people into our lives?” This question reflects an attitude that many in community groups like that of Wesley Jesus Christ want to achieve.
And while we observe changes in bus transport, we should not forget how important it is to actively and repeatedly send people invitations, be it to events or simply in interpersonal interaction.
Changes are in the air, and the Miesbach district shows with its decisions in public transport that it has a good knack for dealing with the challenges of local transport. It will be all the more exciting to see how the plans will develop until they are finally implemented.
