Miesbach is upside down: Gaufest 2025 needs hundreds of helpers!
It starts in less than a month! Preparations for the big Gaufest will begin in Miesbach from July 17th to 30th, 2025, and anticipation is increasing. The festival committee, led by Christian Mittermaier from the Miesbacher Trachtenverein, has already set the course. Around 60 to 70 helpers are needed to put the festival together and those interested are warmly invited to help with less physical tasks such as decoration. Construction begins on Thursday, July 17th with the delivery of the marquee, followed by tent installation on Friday, July 18th. On Saturday, July 19th, the ground, bar and cake sale will be prepared, while decorations will be in place on Sunday, July 20th. Exactly one month before the actual festival, on Monday, July 21st, the stage for the “Auf a Wort” concert will be set up. Another important day is Wednesday, July 23rd, when the beer sets will be set up before the festival officially opens with the beer tapping on Thursday, July 24th.
Tradition and culture in focus
The Gaufest returns to Miesbach after 30 years - an opportunity to celebrate the great tradition and cohesion of Bavarian traditional costume culture. The Gauverband was founded on October 20, 1899 in Holzkirchen. So it's not just a celebration, but a deeply rooted social event where history and community are the focus.
Tickets for the “Auf a Wort” concert are already available from Betten Thoba and Drinks Schmid. The Gaupreisplattln and the traditional costume market will take place on Saturday, July 26th. The Gaufest will begin on Sunday, July 27th. The dismantling work, which begins at 7 p.m. the same evening, is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 30. Traffic planning and other details will be announced in early July so that everything can run smoothly.
