New winter flight schedules for Friedrichshafen and Memmingen: expand destinations!
Travel planning for the winter is taking concrete shape: On Sunday, October 26, 2025, new winter flight schedules will come into force at Friedrichshafen and Memmingen airports. This offers a variety of new options for travel enthusiasts, although some connections will be reduced over the winter.
An exciting highlight at Lake Constance Airport Friedrichshafen is the introduction of new flights to Copenhagen, Denmark. From mid-December 2025, the Danish capital will be served once a week. For everyone who is heading further into the far north, Kuusamo in Finland will also be on the list from February 2026, although the exact offer here has yet to be determined, as swr.de reported.
New destinations and reduced connections
But people don't just fly to the far north. The connection to Belfast (Northern Ireland) will also be added to the program, while Antalya (Türkiye) will be served by Freebird flights from the beginning of November. These take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays and last around four hours. Prices start at 33 euros during the week, but rise to up to 150 euros on weekends, like that South Courier added.
However, winter connections to southern Europe will be restricted: flights to the Greek islands of Crete and Rhodes are not available from November to the end of March. The connection to Mallorca is also becoming less frequent, and at Lake Constance Airport this route is completely discontinued in winter. However, from the end of March 2026, the Balearic Islands flights will return and Ryanair will also be active again at Friedrichshafen Airport, which could significantly increase travel options.
Transport behavior in aviation
As a look at the aviation industry shows, in 2023 the plane was the most popular means of travel after the car for holiday travel, although the recovery after the Corona travel restrictions in Germany is progressing more slowly than in other European countries. The German aviation industry was around 12 percent below the 2019 level in 2024, while an increase of 12 percent was recorded in Spain compared to the same year. High ticket prices are often cited as the reason for this slow recovery, as Statista analyzes.
It will be exciting to see where the wind will take the travelers in the coming weeks and months. New destinations, reduced options and the return of established airlines play an essential role in travel planning and offer a diverse range of winter adventures and short trips.
