Citizens' meeting in Memmingen: City in dialogue on November 23rd!

On Sunday, November 23, 2025, the city of Memmingen invites you to a citizens' meeting under the motto “City in Dialogue”. From 2 p.m., citizens will meet in the town hall to exchange ideas with the city administration and express suggestions and wishes. Mayor Jan Rothenbacher, Mayor Margareta Böckh and Mayor Dr. Hans-Martin Steiger will welcome the meeting and introduce those present to the dialogue. Citizens are allowed to ask questions without fear and find out about current topics.

The event offers an attractive supporting program for all age groups. At the German Unity Square, visitors can expect stands from the Malteser Memmingen, the municipal building yard and the forestry office with a vehicle show. In addition, around 20 stands are represented in the upper foyer, including the building construction office, the city planning office and the registry office, to name just a few. Direct contact with the city administration can be made here and information materials are provided.

Framework conditions and support offers

From 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., those present have the opportunity to present their concerns directly at the meeting or to formulate them in writing. The questions are then answered using these cards. For younger visitors, there is a play area with coloring sheets - ideal for spending time in a meaningful way while parents talk to city representatives.

It is particularly important that inclusive offers are not missing. Sign language interpreters will be available from 3:30 p.m. to ensure barrier-free access to the information event for hearing-impaired or deaf citizens. An inductive hearing system was also set up and is available in the town hall. This shows that inclusion is very important in Memmingen.

The importance of co-creation

This citizens' meeting is not only an opportunity to collect information, but also a platform to actively participate in the city's development. Citizens should feel that their opinions and ideas are valued. Exchanges in such a setting promote community spirit and can lead to positive changes in the city. “City in Dialogue” means more than just listening – it’s about finding solutions and developing ideas together.

The event is also accompanied by extensive information. In the welcome bags, participants will find the magazine “City in Dialogue”, which brings together current topics and projects. This ensures that no one goes home empty-handed and everyone has the opportunity to find out about the city's history and planned projects.

The citizens' meeting in Memmingen is an excellent opportunity not only to speak out as a citizen, but also to actively shape the future of the city. Join in and bring your questions and ideas!
