City cycles 2025: Lichtenfels cycles over 143,000 kilometers for climate protection!

In the district of Lichtenfels, cycling for climate protection rolled up again this year! The “City Cycling 2025” campaign has now been successfully completed. A total of 1,097 enthusiastic participants from 66 teams cycled a remarkable 143,167 kilometers and saved around 23 tons of CO2 emissions. The best cyclists and teams were honored at the ceremonial final event in the district office. District Administrator Christian Meißner praised the tireless efforts and the impressive dynamics of the campaign. The winning teams can be particularly proud. The Colibrium team added the most total kilometers (7,131.5 km) and saved 1,170 kg of CO2. The LRT team secured the title for most kilometers per capita with 628 km per person. Class 8bg of the Herzog-Otto middle school, which reached impressive 1,424.5 km per capita, won at schools. The State Realschule Burgkunstadt was the school with the most overall kilometers at over 17,629 km.
