Shock in Kronach and Lichtenfels: graffiti about animal welfare causes a stir!

In the region around Kronach and Lichtenfels there are currently several police reports that are making residents sit up and take notice. While the investigation into a handbag thief drags on, strangers in the area have recently drawn attention to themselves through critical writing.

Over the past Pentecost weekend, more precisely between Whit Monday, 7 p.m., and Tuesday morning, 6 a.m., defamatory lettering was placed on a hypermarket on Weißenbrunner Straße in Kronach and on a supermarket on Mainau Street in Lichtenfels. These graffiti, which relate to the issue of animal welfare, are partly similar to those found in Kronach. The Coburg criminal police have taken over the investigation and are asking the public for help. Anyone with information can contact the Coburg police on 09561/645-0, as reported by Bavarian Police.

Handbag thief wanted in Stockheim

While the investigation into the graffiti is ongoing, another incident is also keeping the police busy. On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, an attempted handbag robbery occurred in Stockheim, in the Kronach district. A 59-year-old woman had withdrawn money from the savings bank ATM and placed her handbag with the newly withdrawn money on the passenger seat of her vehicle. Suddenly an unknown man who had previously been in the bank opened the passenger door and tried to steal the bag. However, the woman held on bravely and the perpetrator had to flee towards Neukenroth without his prey. To ensure that the investigation progresses quickly, the police are also calling for help in this case. Witnesses can also call 09561/645-0, as NP Coburg reports.

Description of the perpetrator from Stockheim

The wanted handbag thief is described as being around 20 to 25 years old, around 170 cm tall and with a slim build. He also has dark skin, short hair and a fluffy beard. He was wearing jeans and a dark T-shirt with a faded pattern and a black cap. Police are hoping someone in the community has seen this man and can provide helpful information.

It remains to be seen how the situation in the region will develop. In any case, in both cases the police are dependent on the support of the public in order to provide clarity. Whether it's critical messages or a brazen thief, the local investigators have their hands full. Feedback from residents could be crucial in catching the perpetrators and ensuring safety in cities.
