Mistelfeld library: Over 2500 media for the village community!

In the tranquil Mistelfeld, the Catholic public library St. Andreas has developed into a real playground for bookworms. Christine Hertel, the head of the library, recently received the first mayor Andreas Hägerich on an impressive short visit. In the redesigned rooms that have been available since the renovation in 2024, more than 2500 media are waiting to be borrowed from the citizens. A real treasure for the village community!

The library is not just a place to borrow books. With around 200 newly acquired media per year and just as many, which are handed over against a donation, the library shows itself as a living center of education and culture. Mayor Hügerich emphasized the special role of the library as a place of encounter for all generations and thus referred to the valuable function that such institutions take up in rural regions.

diverse media selection and offers

The wide selection of media is making the offer in the library so attractive. In addition to biographies, history books and popular stories, readers also find non -fiction books on topics such as music, psychology or natural sciences. The media are not only tailored to adults, but also offer a variety of children's and youth books that can open up interesting worlds and curious teenagers. This is particularly important at a time when cultural education and reading promotion play an increasingly important role, especially in rural areas.

  • narrative literature:
    • youth booker (from 13 years)
    • children's books (8 to 12 years)
    • first reading age
    • Picture books
  • non -fiction books for all ages:
    • Heimatkunde
    • music, stage and film
    • Pedagogy and Education

village life and events

Another highlight in Mistelfeld is the upcoming parish festival on Thursday, June 19, as part of the Corpus Christi holiday. After the service at 9 a.m., visitors have a cozy lunch available, followed by coffee and cake in the afternoon. The Mistelfeld soldier comradeship also contributes to the festival - the award ceremony for public shooting and the club championship takes place at 6 p.m. A mother-child group and a creative craft group are also active in the parish home, which are also part of the community life.

The library will take a special place during the parish festival. In addition to the supporting program in the library, visitors can admire pictures of the Gößweinsteiner pilgrimage, which will be exhibited in the church from noon. Such events not only strengthen cohesion in the village community, they also offer a platform to act culturally and to promote regional exchange.

The value of public libraries cannot be assessed high enough. As Kubi-Online, they are an important foundation for education and cultural participation, especially in rural areas. They are places that support access to education for all ages and strive for community cooperation.
