Women's power in the forest: chainsaw course for courageous participants in Landshut

In the Landshut district, women are offered the opportunity to expand their skills in using chainsaws. The Bavarian Farmers Association, Landshut district association, is organizing a comprehensive chainsaw course next December that is specifically aimed at women. This course takes place over three days and combines theoretical basics with practical exercises.

The course will start on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. at J.+V. Ripe in Landshut. The other dates are Friday, December 12th, at the same time, as well as a full day practical day on Saturday, December 13th, which will take place in Klosterholz. The participants spend their lunch break at the Huberwirt in Gstaudach, but the meal is not included in the course price.

Theoretical and practical training

The theoretical units cover basic topics ranging from accident prevention regulations to maintenance and care of the chainsaw. In addition to this important content, cutting and felling techniques are also discussed. This means that the participants will later be able to work safely and properly in the forest and fell trees with a diameter of up to 20 cm at chest height.

The practical part in Klosterholz is entirely designed to apply what you have learned. Not only are felling techniques practiced here, but also safe behavior in the forest and how to use a chainsaw are trained according to the highest safety standards. Under guidance, the participants learn how to professionally move stuck trees and how to assess their own skills. The aim is to develop a safe feeling when working in the forest and to take part in active forest management.

Conditions of participation and costs

As far as costs are concerned, participants have to expect 135 euros for members of the Bavarian Farmers' Association and 150 euros for non-members. A special plus point: insured people SVLFG receive a bonus of 60 euros, which makes the course even more attractive.

For further information and to register, those interested can visit the Bavarian Farmers' Association website or contact Mr. Prieler directly on 0152-21637439. By the way, it shows Chainsaw courses a wide range of recognized trainers in Germany who are familiar with the safe handling of chainsaws and offer high-quality further training. There are a total of 198 recognized training centers that are happy to find out more about their offerings.
