Kerm in Kitzingen: Festive days with moving and live music expected!
Kitzingen, Deutschland - In the tranquil settlement of Kitzingen, the annual kerm is celebrated again from August 1 to 3 August. This traditional event, which invites all citizens warmly, not only brings with it a feast mood, but also a varied program. The members of the fraternity begin to clean the settlement with colorful trees and flags on Friday morning, creating the perfect atmosphere for this festive weekend.
On Saturday, August 2, the focus is on preparations for the big move. The festively decorated cars are expected on Sunday, August 3, at 1 p.m. for excavation and lead through the settlement to the Texasweg/Breslauer Straße intersection. There the new queen is crowned and the previous incumbent, Nora Bergsträßer, is ceremoniously adopted. This ceremony is a highlight of the celebrations and promises a lot of emotions.
The supporting program of the Kerm
Promise the events on the sports grounds of the SSV to delight young and old. On Friday, August 1st, you can look forward to a deposit game of the old men at 5 p.m., followed by a sociable church consecration. From 7 p.m., the live band "Let's Dance" will take a good atmosphere until midnight, while the bar operation will attract all night owls from 8 p.m.
Saturday also has a lot to offer: the first and second teams will play exciting games from 1.45 p.m., and from 5 p.m. it will be "Kirchweihessen" again. The band “Stattgraben” takes care of musical entertainment from 7 p.m., with admission prices of only three euros ensure that everyone will get their bill.
Sunday highlight
The festival on Sunday, August 3, starts at 10 a.m. with a hearty white sausage breakfast, framed by the music of the "Francery" band. From 4 p.m. the "Schwarzier Buam" will create the best atmosphere. On this day, too, the church consecration should not be missing, which will take place from 5 p.m.
The thanks from Michael Neubert von der Bauschenschaft, who thanks all helpers, supporters and sponsors for their great commitment, is given a special mention. All of this is wonderfully staged by the Kerm.
move is redirected
My Charivari reports that the course of the train has experienced some changes due to a construction site on Breslauer Straße. The move now starts in Sickershäuser Straße and leads over several stations to the coronation site. So keep an eye out for the festively decorated cars and enjoy this unique spectacle.
The climax of the celebrations marks the funeral of the Kerm in the dark on Sunday evening. This is an old tradition that brings with it very special atmosphere and ends the festival dignified.
We look forward to a colorful weekend full of joy, community and unforgettable experiences. Be there and let yourself be infected by the feast mood!
