SC Kelheim celebrates 80 years with a mega party and spectacular football!

Kelheim, Deutschland - The SC Kelheim celebrated a big festival in bright sunshine: From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the 80th anniversary of the association was celebrated with numerous events and a colorful crowd. The reason for the celebrations was the 75th anniversary, which could not take place because of the corona pandemic. The festive days were all about community, respect and diversity.

With an official ceremony, the event began on Friday: three firecrackers heralded the beginning of the celebrations. To the delight of those present, a friendly played between SC Kelheim and SC Thaldorf, which ended with a 3-1 win for SC Kelheim. The two players Fritz Nerb and Thomas Barwanietz were also able to look forward to a farewell game. Mayor Christian Schweiger, his deputy Dennis Diermeier and District Administrator Martin Neumeyer were among the numerous guests who visited the event. The sociable evening was ended with a player’s night.

But the anniversary was not only shaped by sporting competitions. The young talents of the club focused on Saturday. The G and F youth teams played exciting funino tournaments, while the e-youth delivered a gripping duel against SC Thaldorf that won the guests 2-1. VfL Kelheim was able to take home the trophy in a Gaudi tournament with six teams. The evening was repeated the Player’s Night, which delighted everyone involved with their sociable atmosphere.

on Sunday, on the other hand, it was traditionally approaching. A white sausage breakfast invited the guests of honor and the SC Kelheim seniors to exchange ideas and celebrate together. The pageant to the "Hopfenbach-Arena", the home sports field of SC Kelheim, was another highlight. 1. He was also allowed to welcome the 500th member of the association and awarded Emil Schlockerer the honorary board membership.

A prayer of peace by Pastor Pfeffer and Imam Ekrem Sivri gave the festival a special solemn character. It once again confirmed the values for which the SC Kelheim stands: unity and respect. Thanks also to the numerous helpers who contributed to the success of the festival.

The maintenance of the access road to the sports field and discussions to improve the parking situation are important milestones for the future.
