Endurance test for SG Kaufbeuren: Fearless against second-placed HSG!
On Sunday, November 28th, 2025, an exciting away game is on the agenda for the men's 1 of SG Kaufbeuren/Neugablonz. They will be playing against HSG Gröbenzell-Olching, who are currently in second place in the district league table. With just one defeat from eight games, the HSG team proves that they are not easy opponents. Their defensive strength is particularly impressive: they have only conceded 202 goals this season, making them the strongest defensive team in the league. Wir-Sind-Kaufbeuren reports on the challenges that the SG has to overcome in the run-up to the game, as injuries make preparation difficult.
Despite the tense personnel situation, the team shows morale and fighting spirit. The players are determined to trip up the HSG. In the last duel between the two teams, the HSG won the home game, while the SG won the second leg in Kaufbeuren. This time, however, the conditions are different - and the SG will give everything in the Olchinger main school hall at 5:00 p.m. in order not to lose sight of the top places in the table.
The HSG Gröbenzell-Olching
The HSG Gröbenzell-Olching is the handball department in 1. SC Gröbenzell, in cooperation with TSV Olching. In addition to the two men's teams, the team also includes several youth teams. These include the junior teams B and D as well as a joint junior team in age group E. They are also supported by mini and ball sports groups who are gaining their first playing experience. HSG's second men's team actively participates in league games. Further information about training times and trial training can be found on the HSG homepage.
The F-youth in action
While the men's 1 are fighting in Gröbenzell, the F-Youth of the SG is starting the third tournament of the winter round in Peißenberg at the same time. The tournament starts at 9:30 a.m. in the Glückauf Hall. Teams from Biessenhofen, Mindelheim and Peißenberg have registered for the tournament, and the young talents are looking forward to the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
The two events on Sunday reflect the lively handball sport in the region and show that both the men and the youngsters are ready to take on high challenges.
