Large second-hand mode market Women's Matters in Olching: style and solidarity!

In Olching, everything revolves around sustainable fashion and the support of women in need on the first weekend in July. The popular second-hand mode market "Women's Matters" opens its goals in Amperschule, Georgenstraße 9 on July 5th and 6th. Here buyers will find a colorful selection of skirts, clothes, pants, t-shirts and much more. From everyday clothing to accessories such as hats and bags, there is something for every taste. The entire net proceeds go to charitable projects to support women in difficult situations, with the organization team retaining 10 % of sales.

A look at the donation recipients shows where the money flows: "Social Period" provides homeless women with periods of periods, while "Juno" helps to participate in social life. The “premature fee” is also part of it and supports parents of premature babies and star children. This is a major concern of the women's matters, which has been working since 2018 and thus makes a valuable contribution to Agenda 21 in Olching.

supporting program and more

However, the event is not just a marketplace for second-hand mode. The supporting program offers fantastic opportunities to support local artists, craftsmen and musicians. Visitors can look forward to a fashion show where the latest trends are presented in second-hand mode. To round off perfect looks, there are free hairstyles and makeup tips. In addition, an Olchinger cellist provides background music on Sunday.

parallel to the event, a cinematic performance will take place on Friday evening: "Bigger Than Us", a documentary from Flore Vasseur, is shown. The film addresses the commitment of young people in areas such as the environment, sustainability and human rights. The offer of sound shell meditations ensures a relaxed atmosphere.

sustainability and secondhand

In today's world, the topic of sustainability is becoming increasingly important, not only in everyday life, but also in fashion. The buyers of used clothing play a special role. A current study shows that the purchase of second-hand mode can reduce the consumption of new resources by up to 90 %. While platforms such as Vestiaire Collective and Vinted are booming on the Internet, the local approach often remains the more environmentally friendly choice. Buying the fashion on site avoids long transport routes and protects the environment as well as the trends in the second-hand industry.

For all women who participate in the market or just want to browse and strengthen, there are still a few things to consider. The opening times are on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Accessibility is good on public transport, even if the parking spaces are limited. The contact address Halle@frauensachen-Olching.org is available to sellers and helpers.

If you shop sustainably and at the same time stands good on your agenda, then stop by on the first weekend in July in Olching. It's worth it!
