The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a series of severe weather warnings for today, August 16, 2025, on Assumption Day, which is keeping us here in Bavaria on tenterhooks. Severe thunderstorms were warned in the early hours of the morning, and the forecasts are not particularly reassuring.
The warnings primarily affect the region around Ingolstadt, where strong thunderstorms can be expected until midnight. The warning about strong thunderstorms of level 2 was in effect here until around 8 p.m. The situation has calmed down somewhat in parts of the region, but the official warnings have already been lifted in the districts of Cham, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, Eichstätt, Regen and other areas.
In order to take a well-rounded look at the situation, it is important to also mention the warnings for the city and the district of Rosenheim.
