Corpus Christi: folk festival anticipation with a parade and party fun!

Corpus Christi Day is just around the corner and with it the start of one of the most popular festivals in the region. On June 14, 2025 the time has finally come: preparations for the 55th folk festival in Velden are in full swing and the anticipation is palpable. In the afternoon the first celebrations begin with the traditional procession in which various club delegations take part. PNP reports.

The folk festival itself will take place from June 19th to 22nd. Patron Mayor Martin Pichler will give the starting signal on Friday, June 19th by leading the big parade at 4:30 p.m. On this occasion, the first barrel is tapped, which is traditionally celebrated with much cheering and joy.

Festival program and attractions

This year, visitors can look forward to a large amusement park and a covered beer garden. The party tent is open from 9 p.m. and promises an exuberant atmosphere. Musical highlights are provided by the Marktkapelle Schönberg, which plays until 6.30 p.m., and the band “der Artische madness”, which creates a great atmosphere from 7 p.m. Velden Folk Festival informed.

There is a rich program especially for families. On Friday, June 20th, visitors can expect a marquee operation from 11:30 a.m. For the little guests there is a children's pageant at 2 p.m. and an exciting children's program from 3 p.m., where, among others, the magician Merlini will show off his skills. Children can also benefit from reduced fares until 6 p.m.

The folk festival is not only a place to celebrate, but also a platform for strengthening the community and maintaining regional traditions.
