After a fight in youth football: SE Freising reacts violently!

An incident that will not soon be forgotten occurred last Saturday after the B youth game between SG Moosen and SE Freising. What began as a sporting argument ended in a bloody fracas that involved several youths. Loud Mercury The police had to move in after fights and verbal arguments broke out. The situation escalated to such an extent that a player from the Moosen team had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance, while a junior player from SE Freising suffered a slight concussion from a kick in the head.

Witnesses, including a player's mother, documented the incident on video. These recordings show that the commotion was caused by a collision from a Moosen player. The situation became increasingly widespread: a person in charge of SG Moosen even went so far as to put a Freising player in a stranglehold. What was particularly shocking was that some Freising players stepped on a Moosen player who was lying on the ground, which further inflamed the situation.

Consequences for the clubs involved

The consequences for SE Freising are already noticeable. The club has announced that it will suspend two players from playing. In addition, the coach of the B youth team resigned. The head of department at SE Freising, Schlechta, plans to send a statement including a video to the Bavarian Football Association. The incidents also raise criminal questions that may be investigated. It remains to be seen how the responsible authorities will react to this.

The incident in Moosen is not just a locally dominated topic, but is part of a worrying trend. How CORRECTIVE According to reports, hundreds of children and young people have become victims of violence in German football in recent years. Since 2020, at least 37 criminal investigations have been initiated in Germany for violent offenses in football against minors. It turns out that many of these incidents have structural patterns - they often involve perpetrators who committed attacks in various clubs over the years before they were brought to justice.

In an online survey by CORRECTIV and 11FREUNDE, almost 500 participants said that they had experienced violence in football. The majority of cases involve sexual violence, but racist and homophobic comments and bullying are also widespread. Attacks that occurred between the 1970s and 2025 were often not addressed by investigative authorities. This raises serious questions about the safety and protection of youth players in football.

The situation for SE Freising and SG Moosen is difficult, and the search for a new coach for the SEF's B youth team will not be easy - a good hand is definitely needed here to shape the next season and restore trust.

It remains to be hoped that with the necessary consequences and decisive action against violence in football, the situation will improve for everyone involved and such incidents can be avoided in the future.
