Freising celebrates successes: Mayor Eschenbacher honored!

On December 4th, 2025, the 15th partnership evening took place in the auditorium of the Dom-Gymnasium in Freising, which was, as always, well attended. In this festive setting, Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher was recognized for his many years of commitment and received a standing ovation from the participants. This is further evidence of the esteem in which Eschenbacher is held in the city, particularly for his role in local politics, which he has exercised since May 1, 2012, when he was elected mayor. Born on September 1, 1977 in Munich, Eschenbacher grew up in Freising and is known for his diverse commitment, which also includes the founding of the Fink Media publishing house, which deals with the culture and history of Freising.  Freising.de reports that a review of the partnership evening can be viewed on the city's website.

As they say in politics, “there’s something going on”! Some important dates are coming up: On December 4th at 7 p.m. Eschenbacher invites citizens to a central citizens' meeting in the large meeting room of the town hall. This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions about urban development and to actively participate in what is happening, because citizen participation is a central element of democracy. “Diversity of opinions leads to better solutions,” is emphasized in the context of citizen participation, which has had a high priority in Freising in recent years. Eschenbacher has introduced regular citizens' meetings, which enormously promotes dialogue between administration and citizens. Looking ahead to the coming week

Another important date is coming up on December 8, 2025 at 5 p.m. in the small meeting room of the town hall. The Finance and Administration Committee meets and will deal with awarding contracts, funding and a participation report. Just two days later, on December 10th, the Committee for Planning, Building and Environment met to discuss statements on various development plan procedures and the plan approval process at Munich Airport. The city of Freising has made progress towards openness and transparency in recent years, which is also reflected in the efficient administrative processes.

We work together with the citizens on future-oriented projects that contribute to their identification with the city. Citizen participation is particularly important. Weekly newsletters and a modern website keep the people of Freising up to date on developments. “The goal is to further increase transparency and advance digitalization,” it says on the citizen participation website. With every commitment, be it by taking part in a citizens' meeting or by contributing ideas, Freising becomes a little more colorful and lively.
