There is great joy in charming Franconian Switzerland: The Forchheim section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) held a successful annual general meeting with new elections. Chairman Ulrich Schürr was unanimously re-elected and remains at the helm of the association, while Dieter Sprott continues to act as deputy chairman. A stable management team is essential for the club, and it shows that the members are very committed and passionate about mountain sports. The extended board, which will guide the association's fortunes for the next three years, is made up of experienced members. In addition to the chairman and deputy chairman, the executive board also includes Thomas Neubauer as treasurer, Franka Struve-Waasner as secretary and Jutta Strom-Haensch as youth officer. The latter spoke proudly about the lively youth work that introduces over 500 young people to climbing. Varied offerings and solid finances
The club not only boasts a high number of members, but also with a wide range of activities, ranging from mountaineering to skiing and caving to mountain biking. The healthy financial situation, which Treasurer Thomas Neubauer reported to the meeting, is particularly pleasing. There was also praise for the committed work of Struve-Waasner and Strom-Haensch as well as for the support of Dieter Sprott.
A look at the infrastructure proves the vitality of the DAV. The section offers activities in ten different adult groups, including special family and youth groups. Furthermore, the new climbing and bouldering hall in Forchheim is open to all members, who can meet there every Tuesday between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.

There was a special honor for Helmut Sentner, who was leaving his position after decades as a climbing and ski touring guide. His commitment to the DAV will not be forgotten, even though Andrea Diehl from Obertrubach has now been appointed to the office. This also has extended opening hours at Wiesentstraße 2 in Forchheim in order to better meet the needs of its members.
