Erlanger Bergkirchweih 2025: A festival full of surprises and heroes!
The 270th Erlanger Bergkirchweih has been in full swing since June 8th and delighted the first guests with a successful tapping at the Henninger Keller on the opening day on June 5th by Mayor Florian Janik at 5:00 p.m. Despite the changeable weather, many visitors were able to enjoy the unique atmosphere around the historic beer cellars, which are surrounded by extensive green areas. The crowds on the holidays were enormous in Franconia reported.
The festival offers its guests an extensive program. With 12 festival hosts and around 900 employees on site, the physical well-being is taken care of and there are also almost 90 rides as well as numerous snack and confectionery stands, which primarily attract tourists. These events not only offer an authentic Bavarian experience, but are often designed to appeal to a wide audience, like the Gaudi button explained.
Special events and activities
In the following days there were numerous activities on the program. A special highlight took place on Family Day, June 12th, when many families took the opportunity to explore the different stands and rides. Unfortunately, the day was also marred by a serious incident when a man had to be resuscitated on Thursday evening. Two attentive mountain visitors quickly intervened and helped, so that fortunately the situation ended lightly.
The event runs until June 16th and offers visitors a variety of opportunities to experience Bavarian culture up close every day from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. On Sundays and public holidays the festival is open from 9:30 a.m. Another highlight will be the service in the Erich Cellar on June 15th, followed by the traditional burial of the last barrel at mass on June 16th at 11:00 p.m.
