In Eckental, an exciting phase is imminent: From June 25, 2025, the parking lot at the town hall will be closed to the renovation work. Wiesentbote reports that the construction work starts immediately after the Whitsun holidays in calendar week 26. In order to ensure safety during the work, the construction site is cordoned off with a construction fence. Unfortunately, this also means that both the parking lot and the covered bicycle stand will no longer be accessible. Pedestrians pay attention: access to this area will not be possible either.

A small relaxation for drivers: In the following week, a temporary entrance will be set up on a gravel area, which means that some parking spaces are available again. However, visitors are asked to avoid parking in Eckentaler Straße and to the parking lot in Schulstrasse at the Glascontainers. For the barrier -free visitors, a parking space in front of the town hall was made available during the construction period - right in front of the building at Eckentaler Straße 2.

But not only the town hall car park is the focus of the construction work. The Brander Hauptstraße is also tackled. According to Wochenklick, the state building authority renews the asphalt ceiling, starting with the canal work on March 31. This is done in combination with the laying of fiber optic dists to improve broadband supply. The total costs for the measures are estimated at 583,000 euros.

The Brander Hauptstraße is expected to be completely closed until May 9, 2025, while the shops and practices that are located along the street will remain available from the town center. There is good news, especially for the residents of Tulpenstrasse: they can drive to the construction site via Primelweg and Rosenstrasse. After completing the work in Brander Hauptstraße, Tulpenstrasse is also closed, probably until June 27th.
