375 years of Oberle: Celebration of family solidarity in Kosbach!
In Kosbach, a charming part of Erlangen, the Oberle family proudly celebrated their 375th anniversary on the farm. A celebration that was characterized by the solidarity of the family and honored the hard work of the last decades. Resi Oberle, who is now 86 years old, looked with pride at the decades of effort that went into this farm. At the heart of the celebration was the motto of togetherness and tradition that is passed down through generations, like the NN reported.
What sets the Oberles apart? In addition to agriculture, it is above all the in-house brewery, which is located in the “Nützel Hof” just outside Erlangen and has remained in the family for almost 370 years. The historic farm buildings have been lovingly restored and now house both a fish restaurant and the pond restaurant, which serves regional specialties. Here, Peter Oberle, Resi's son, turned a hobby into a professional business in 2018 and has been brewing the delicious Oberle beers ever since. These come not only from the tap, but also in practical 2-liter bottles and offer beer lovers a truly enjoyable experience.
Delicacies from the Oberle brewery
The selection of beers is impressive: the varieties include the “Hofbier” (a tasty cellar beer), a classic Helles and the strong Christmas Bock “Cyprinus” with 7% alcohol. These beers are not only popular locally, but also contribute to Bavarian beer culture. Ultimately, it's worth taking a look at the rich history of beer, like this Brewery Association shows where Germany is home to over 30 museums on beer culture and history, which are dedicated to the deeply rooted craft of brewing.
One thing is clear: beer and regional traditions belong together in Bavaria. Species-rich beer hiking trails invite you to stroll from brewery to brewery and discover the variety of Bavarian beers. Franconia in particular is considered a stronghold of brewing culture with a large number of small breweries that underline the regional character of the beers. This also includes the Oberle family, who are proud not only of their own farm, but also of the Bavarian beer landscape.
The 375th anniversary celebration is not only an occasion for the Oberle family itself, but also a part of Bavarian culture, which balances a sense of tradition and enjoyment. The Oberle beers, which are very popular in terms of taste, not only remind you of your own history, but also of the history of beer in and around Erlangen. While the Oberle family looks to the future, the forest and meadow landscape in Kosbach remains a good place for socializing and enjoyment.
