EV Landshut celebrates its sixth test success with a 6:4 win in Erding!

The Landshut ice hockey club (EVL) has completed its preparations for the new DEL2 season 2025/26 with a brilliant win against the Erding Gladiators. Last weekend, the EVL won 6:4 (1:0/2:1/3:3) and celebrated their sixth win in a row in the test game series. It was an exciting duel that attracted 2,119 spectators to the ice rink in Erding, many of them loyal EVL fans.

The return of Jesse Koskenkorva, who will continue to play for the EVL next season after a shoulder injury, was particularly pleasing for the Landshut team. The Finnish striker, who joined the team in January 2024, has already collected an impressive 33 scorer points in 62 DEL2 games during his time at EVL. Thanks to an option, his contract is now extended until summer 2026, which is a real plus for the team. Max Brandl, EVL sporting director, is optimistic about Koskenkorva's return and his influence on the coming season.

Course of the game in Erding

In the game against the Gladiators, the EVL got off to a good start. Luis Scheibengraber opened the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute, followed by further goals from David Elsner and Lukas Gaus. The hosts were able to catch up at times, but the EVL didn't let themselves be disturbed. Wade Bergman, Pascal Steck and Tobias Lindberg contributed to the final score with their goals. Ultimately, the Gladiators only managed to correct the result late, but it was no longer decisive.

Outlook for the coming season

Meanwhile, eyes are turning to the league opener on Friday, September 19th, when the EVL will face the Ravensburg Towerstars at 8 p.m. in the VR-Bank Landshut Arena. After a consistently positive test match phase, the team under coach Uwe Krupp is optimistic and eager to fight. The coach particularly praised the performance of the young players, who performed well during the test matches.

The EVL is ready to start the new DEL2 season and with players like Jesse Koskenkorva in the squad, the team undoubtedly has the potential to delight fans in the coming season.
