New BRK base in Markt Schwaben: Second-hand shop Lieblingsstücks” opens!

Something is happening in Markt Schwaben: The BRK district association Ebersberg is opening a new base on Erdinger Straße in the summer of 2025, in the former AOK building. Not only will the existing rescue station and the volunteer communities be expanded here, but also a very special clothing store that will be called “Lieblingsstücken”.

The clothing store offers a wide range of well-preserved second-hand clothing. These come not only from large donations from the public, but also from regional retailers in the form of new goods. This makes a “shopping experience” a reality for all citizens in Markt Schwaben, as is also the case in other places such as the Henry’s clothing store in Eichstätt, which is also committed to sustainability and offers good quality at low prices.

Volunteers wanted

An important concern of the BRK is the search for volunteers for the clothing store. We are looking for committed supporters for store design, customer advice, product sorting and sales. The operation of the shop is mainly carried out by volunteers, which makes it a place of encounter, as the vision of Henry's in Eichstätt describes.

The new location will not only serve as a sales area, but will also be used as a contact point for basic BRK services such as home emergency services, meals on wheels and home health care. For detailed consultations, a prior appointment is required, which residents can make use of.

A place for community

The base's premises are also made available for various events organized by the BRK and its communities. This creates a place that not only sells goods, but also strengthens social cohesion in the community. The concept of the clothing store focuses strongly on treating all customers with respect and dignity and gives shopping a pleasant ambience. Similar to the DRK clothing stores, where no proof of need is required, all citizens can access a wide range here.
