New BRK base in Markt Schwaben: Secondhand shop Favorite pieces opened!

Erdinger Straße, Markt Schwaben, Deutschland - In Markt Schwaben, something is happening: The BRK district association Ebersberg opens a new base on Erdinger Strasse in the summer of 2025 in the former AOK building. Not only the existing rescue station and the volunteer communities are being expanded here, but also a very special clothing shop that will bear the name "Favorite Pieces".

With the clothing shop, a diverse range of well-preserved second-hand clothing is provided. These come not only from large donations from the population, but also from regional dealers in the form of new goods. A "shopping experience" for all citizens in Markt Schwaben becomes reality, as is practiced in other places such as in the Henry’s clothing shop in Eichstätt, which also works for sustainability and offers good quality at low prices.

volunteers wanted

An important concern of the BRK is the search for volunteers for the clothing store. We are looking for committed supporters for shop design, customer advice, goods sorting and sales. The operation of the store is mainly secured by volunteers, which makes it a place of encounter, as the vision of Henry’s in Eichstätt describes.

The new location will not only serve as a sales area, but also used as a contact point for basic BRK offers such as home emergency calls, food on wheels and house nursing. For detailed consultations, a prior appointment is necessary that the residents can claim.

The premises of the base are also provided for various events of the BRK and its communities. This creates a place that not only sells goods, but also strengthens social cohesion in the community. The concept of the clothing store focuses heavily on a respectful and worthy treatment of all customers and gives purchasing a pleasant ambience. Similar to the DRK clothing shops, where no proof of need is required, all citizens can access a wide range here.
