Common strength for climate protection: 17 municipalities start!

Ebersberg, Deutschland - In Ebersberg-Munich, a piece of future will be designed! The municipal climate protection network started its three -year work in order to advance climate protection and adaptation to climate change in the participating municipalities. On June 26, representatives from 17 municipalities came together to lay the foundation stone at the first network meeting in Neuried. Mayor Harald Zipfel opened the meeting and presented the goals of the network to the participants, while Sebastian Gröbmayr from the Institute for Sustainable Energy Care (INEV) explained that greenhouse gas balance sheets and energy use plans were already being developed in the municipalities. Heat planning is also on the agenda in many communities.

The network aims to implement concrete projects and goals during its three -year term. Heiko Bernhardt, local consultant at the energy agency, gave an inspiring impulse lecture on the importance of climate -related land use planning. In his recommendations, he outlined how climate adaptation and climate protection measures can be firmly anchored in land use and development plans. The importance of long -term strategic planning was also underlined by Martina Schneider, the city of the Stadt Raum Planning. Another important contribution came from Dieter Maier, the speaker for climate protection and sustainability in Neuried, which presented the individual plans of the framework plans for climate adaptation, which are to be decided in 2024

collaboration strengthens climate protection

The connection to other initiatives is essential. Ten municipalities merged from three counties in the “Die Klima10” network. This network pursues the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through strategic measures by relying on cooperation. The basic idea is simple: together municipalities can achieve more than alone. The optimization of your own properties is just as important as the consideration of climate protection aspects in municipal land use planning.

Another plus is the integration of the citizens, which are to be sensitized to the goals through various event offers. In many ways, the networks support each other, which increases the chances of achieving ambitious climate goals. The Federal Environment Agency also underlines the central role of municipalities in climate protection and referred to the need to improve legal and political framework. These reliefs are crucial so that municipalities can realize their goals for greenhouse gas neutrality.

with full strength into the future

The challenges are diverse. Municipalities often have to weigh competing interests, be it from the economy, housing or mobility. A common goal is the comprehensive transformation in several areas: only by the renovation of the entire building on efficiency house standard 55, the redesign of the transport sector to environmentally friendly transport and complete supply of renewable energies can greenhouse gas emissions be sustainable. Better infrastructure and the creation of green areas not only promote climate protection, but also the quality of life of the citizens.

The next meeting of the climate protection network is already planned for September in Anzing. So it will be interesting to see what progress and ideas are waiting for us. The participation of all actors is essential, because every commitment counts for climate protection! The time to act is now-and in Ebersberg-Munich is already working hard on the future.
