Ebersberg archery stars fight for a ticket to the final in Wiesbaden!

On January 15, 2026, Sinsheim was all about archery, as BSG Ebersberg had to assert itself in the decisive competition against PSV Munich. Under the guidance of coach Andreas Blaschke, the team showed an impressive performance, but was unable to score important points in the “four-point match”. Despite a ring average of 57.5 out of 60 possible points, which was rated as “really good”, it was not enough for victory. This left BSG Ebersberg only in fourth place in the Bundesliga South, which still entitles them to take part in the final, but also brings a lot of excitement to the remaining competitions. Merkur.de reports on the outstanding performances, which were, however, overshadowed by a small disappointment.

The start of the season was anything but ideal, as the Ebersbergers had to admit defeat in the opening defeat against Bayreuth with 3:7, followed by a draw against Welzheim (5:5) and a narrow defeat against Tacherting (295 to 296 rings). But the team quickly got back on the road to success with a 6:4 win against Villingen-Schwenningen and a clear 6:0 against Büschfeld. However, the unfortunate defeat against PSV Munich 4:6 was particularly painful and reduced the team's points total, which is now level on points with PSV Munich and BC Villingen-Schwenningen - both with 16:26 points each.

Looking at the challenges ahead

In this exciting situation, the last preliminary round competition day on February 7th in Welzheim is of crucial importance. This will show whether BSG Ebersberg can collect enough points to be admitted to the final on February 28th in Wiesbaden. Coach Blaschke, who is optimistic that his team will deliver the required performance, is optimistic about the future, even if he has to do without top shooters like Max Weckmüller, Elisa Tartler and Michelle Kroppen. DSB.de emphasizes that Amelie Aichinger and Oliver Obst form the skeleton of the team and Blaschke is working towards at least five points for the first competition. The important opponents – PSV Munich, led by Regina Kellerer, and SGi Welzheim with Elia Canales – have already been determined.

The Bundesliga final in Wiesbaden is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and the Ebersbergers already have a proud record in this city: four titles, as well as one silver and one bronze. The anticipation for the event is great, even if the overnight stays have not yet been booked - a sign of superstition on the part of the athletes seems to have a part to play in this. It remains to be seen whether these strategic games will help the team succeed.

In the meantime, the Hammer SC 2008 put a lot of effort into organizing the competition with around 10-15 people. The team's goal is to win more matches than they lose in order to have a chance at the final. Lars-Derek Hoffmann emphasizes the importance of a good start to the season in order to keep motivation high and present archery convincingly.

The upcoming activities promise pure excitement. The eyes of the Ebersbergers and their fans are on the last day of the competition in Welzheim. The hope of a successful participation in the final is alive, and everyone is looking forward to the results, which will be announced on February 28th in Wiesbaden.
