Grill festival of the Oberndorf fire brigade: fun for young and old despite the rain!

In the event of a pouring rain, the Oberndorf volunteer fire brigade on June 15, 2025 proved that a successful festival is independent of the weather. Despite the wet conditions, the guests flocked to the barbecue, which came up with an exciting supporting program and culinary delights. The event, which took place in the sociable atmosphere of the fire brigade association, ended in the middle of happy conversations and smiling faces.

For the little visitors there was a bouncy castle all the time. From 3:00 p.m., the children were able to let off steam creatively while making up children and experienced exciting trips with the fire engine. This caused bright eyes and lots of fun. The fire brigade was challenged from 6:00 p.m.: it served fresh grill specialties, which were very popular with those present. This made it well taken care of the physical well -being, while the bar operation with summer drinks such as lillet, aperol and wine spritzer offered a welcome refreshment for the adult guests.

The fire brigade association was satisfied after the course of the festival and took the opportunity to thank all helpers, cake donations, supporters and, last but not least, the numerous guests. Among the visitors was also the sponsorship association FF Genderkingen, which gave the festival a special note.

In less than two weeks, the Oberndorf volunteer fire brigade will celebrate its 150th anniversary-an important event that will certainly be another highlight in club life. It is also similar in Wiener Neudorf: The volunteer fire brigade there plans on September 11, 2022, on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, a large fire brigade festival in the "Franz-Fürst-Freifungzentrum". Under the motto "With the youth to the future", the organizers can expect an extensive children's program that includes bouncy castles, face painting and skill stations, as well as a variety of food and drinks.

In the coming year, more precisely from September 6th to 8th, 2024, the 34th Wiener Feuerweitfest will take place in Vienna. The participants can look forward to a colorful program that is guaranteed not to raise boredom. From vehicle presentations of the professional fire brigade to exciting operational demonstrations and information stands to training as a firefighter, visitors have a lot to discover. A special highlight will be the demonstrations of various use scenarios, which will take place both on Saturday and Sunday.

This is to be noted: Firefighters are not only opportunities to come together comfortably and enjoy good food, they also promote the community and offer exciting insights into the work of the fire brigade - not only in Oberndorf, but everywhere in Austria.
