Dingolfing celebrates 775 years with a new anniversary spritzer” for a good cause!
In the town of Dingolfing, the celebrations for the 775th anniversary were recently given with the presentation of a very special drink: the “Jubiläumsspritzerle”. This tangy product is made from regional apples and pears and symbolizes the city's local ties. Production is carried out by the well-known Graf Arco brewery from Adldorf. The beautifully designed bottle labels come from the Atelier & Friends agency from Grafenau, who have integrated the anniversary year into the design. When introducing the spritzer, Mayor Maria Huber highlighted regionality as a central element and emphasized the importance of the symbolism that accompanies this refreshment. “It is a spritzer that is fresh, clear and authentic,” is how managing director Georg Reichert describes the product, which is all about sustainability.
From now on, Dingolfinger residents can purchase the anniversary spritzer from 27 retailers and restaurateurs in the city and the surrounding area. Particularly noteworthy: for every case of the spritzer sold, one euro is donated to the Dingolfing-Landau children's cancer charity. Ulrike Eckhart, the chairwoman of the organization, thanked for the support and emphasized how important this help is for affected children and their families.
Regionality and sustainability in focus
The decision to use a regional product fits into a larger trend: the fragility of global supply chains has become abundantly clear during the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. More and more people are turning to regional products that are not only climate-friendly but also strengthen the local economy. This is supported by reports from the Federal Environment Agency, which point to the growing importance of regionality. More and more consumers are relying on regional value chains and are therefore showing an increased desire for localization and stability.
The “anniversary spritzer” not only makes a contribution to the local market, but also represents a new awareness of sustainability. It embodies the idea that by consuming local products you actively contribute to supporting the environment and the community. The motto of the anniversary year, the tree, illustrates this philosophy and brings citizens together.
A step into the future
The spritzer will not only be on store shelves, but will also become a symbol of Dingolfing's identity and community cohesion. The local commitment shows that everyone involved in this project has a good hand in the future of the city. The “anniversary spritzer” is therefore more than just a drink; it is a symbol of the city's 775-year history and the beginning of further successful, regional projects that can strengthen both the environment and the community.
The official presentation of the spritzer could be the start of a small revolution for the city. Because regional is not only a good way in times of crisis, but also a sign of the future that is being reinterpreted in Dingolfing.
We are looking forward to the upcoming anniversary celebrations and are excited to see how the people of Dingolfing will continue to shape their city's history. The local commitment shows that even with small steps you can achieve big things.
