Respiratory protection course successful: ten firefighters pass the exam and receive honors!
The 146th respiratory protection course recently took place in the Dingolfing district and spanned three Saturdays. During this intensive training, ten participants were able to successfully demonstrate their knowledge and skills in using respiratory protective devices. The participants were not only trained in the basics of respiratory protection, but also learned how to react correctly in emergency situations and how to provide the appropriate equipment. Overall, the training was an excellent opportunity to prepare for the challenges that await firefighters in action. That's what she reported PNP that exercises were carried out in smoke-filled rooms to clarify the responsibility of a respiratory protection team.
The exercises also included various simulated operational scenarios, such as basement, garage and apartment fires. This required a lot of skill from the course participants and the correct approach in difficult situations. A practical performance test in the respiratory protection training facility underlined the points mentioned. Here, the participants had to master, among other things, how to put on the breathing apparatus as well as exercises on creepage distances and hose lines.
Volunteering and awards
Particularly noteworthy is the farewell to honorary district fire chief Anton Wieser, who has been active in district respiratory protection training since 1998. His many years of dedication and commitment were recognized with a certificate of thanks from the district. Fire brigade representatives, including district fire officer Max Schraufnagl and district fire inspector Johannes Pichlmayr, presented the award in a ceremonial setting. Wieser was also named an honorary instructor, which underlines his high reputation in the fire service community.
District fire chief Hans Kulzer praised the importance of the course for operational activities and thanked the participants, trainers and helpers, including the Dingolfing fire department and the Sossau fire department, for their support. The graduates of the course performed well in a written exam before receiving the good news that they had passed the exam. The successful participants include Christian Steinberger, Valentin Fuchs, Michael Nusko and many other fire department members.
Together for safety
The importance of training in respiratory protection is not only valued in the Dingolfing district. The safe use of respiratory protective devices is also crucial in other areas. According to the TÜV Academy The use of respirators is essential in the commercial sector, especially when dealing with hazardous substances and air pollutants. In principle, proof of an occupational medical check-up in accordance with G 26.3 must be provided before practical exercises can take place.
The new [ DGUV Rule 112-190 ] for respirator wearers, which came into effect in December 2021, highlights the importance of regular training and instruction. The aim of this regulation is to ensure a high level of safety and effectiveness when using respiratory protective devices. The different roles of responsibility in the area of respiratory protection help ensure that comprehensive competence is always available in practice.
