New coach for SpVgg GW Deggendorf: Penzkofer relies on team spirit!
The anticipation for the coming football season is in the air, and SpVgg GW Deggendorf started training for the new season on Friday evening. With a fresh trainer at the top, Benjamin Penzkofer, the club will attack, after a relegation from the Landesliga, in the East district league. Penzkofer, a former U19 coach of the club, has gained a lot of experience in the past five years and is now making a clear vision. "We have to become a team," says Penzkofer, who wants to take care of his new team intensively in the coming weeks.
The new season welcome to the new season, while some players have left the club. Departures like Ashour Abraham, who has switched to Türk Gücü Straubing, and Marlon Nicklas, who is now playing at FC Dingolfing, are traces. Maximilian Semmler from FC Aunkirchen has been added. Penzkofer sees the need to optimally set up the squad because nine long -term injuries are to be made fit again. Despite the challenges, the squad planning has progressed well: almost all players have given their promise, including Lukas Groll and Niklas Hauner, who will help shape the coming season.
squad planning for the new season
The squad planning is not only controlled by Penzkofer alone, but is also carried out in close cooperation with the youth board. According to training-service.fussball.de there are several factors that can influence the squad merging. This includes the region of the association, sporting goals and the influx of young players. Penzkofer is aware of this dynamics and wants to work in a targeted manner to integrate the talents into the first team.
The test games that are due in the coming weeks are intended to help internalize the new game philosophy. The plan provides for six friendly games, including SV Perlesreut on June 21 and FSV Landau on June 28th. These encounters are an excellent way to grow together as a team and implement the trainer's strategy.
A look into the future
Benjamin Penzkofer, who was already active in the junior Bundesliga and men's regional league, is supported by a dedicated supervisor. Torman trainer Manfred Winter is preserved, and Maximilian Emmer will work as an athletics and rehabilitation trainer. Penzkofer is optimistic that the SpVgg GW Deggendorf can start the new season strengthened. "We still have four weeks until the start of the season," said the new coach, "and I am confident that we will shape a powerful group."
The challenge remains great. Player coach Jure Matic, who resigns after a year for professional and private reasons, will remain in the club and can continue to ensure stability. Sports coordinator Andreas Schäfer understands Matic’s decision and still sees chances of staying in the league.
The next few weeks will be crucial where Penzkofer and his team have to set the course for a successful second half of the season in the district league East. It is to be hoped that the efforts and the new changes will bear fruit and Deggendorf can play in the upper table again.
It remains exciting and we are excited to see how the team will present themselves in the test games. A good start could be a first sign of a successful season.
