An exciting event is just around the corner in Plattling, Bavaria: The Canoe Freestyle World Championships will take place on the Isarwelle from June 15th to 22nd, 2025. The venue has made a name for itself for a reason; Major competitions have been held here in the past, including the 2011 World Championships and the 2016 European Championships. This year, over 200 athletes from around 40 nations will be taking part, including some of the best canoeists in the world. Loud PNP the event is an excellent opportunity for participants to demonstrate their freestyle canoeing skills.
Family ties play a special role in this championship. The American Eric Jackson has not only had an impressive career - with a total of four world titles - but this year he is also challenging his son Dane, who is the reigning world champion and already has five titles in his collection. “I don’t see any friends in the competition, not even my son,” explains Eric, who prepared intensively for the World Cup with daily running and regular training. The participants
Six-time world champion Ottilie Robinson-Shaw is also among the participants. The 23-year-old already prepared for the World Cup on the Isar in April and described her secrets of success as hard training and deep belief in herself. She took part in her first international competition in Plattling at the age of 14 and has been an integral part of the canoe freestyle scenes ever since.
The field of participants is more diverse than ever. The German canoe freestyle athletes produce talents that face international competitors. The current national team is impressive. Among the participants are:
