60 years of parity in Upper Franconia: An anniversary for social justice!

A reason to celebrate: The Paritätische in Upper Franconia celebrated its 60th anniversary last weekend with a festive event in the “Haus am See” in Coburg. District chairman Norbert Tessmer and numerous prominent guests such as the mayor of Coburg, Dominik Sauerteig, and Margit Berndl, the board member of Paritätisches Bayern, were part of this important event. His speeches not only highlighted the association's successes, but also the challenges facing the social landscape. The former mayor warned urgently of the “dangers to the social landscape” that threaten particularly in times of social upheaval.

The 30th anniversary of the women's shelter in Coburg, which is an important part of the Paritätisches Upper Franconia, was particularly celebrated. Angela Platsch and Annemarie Lorenz, the two representatives of the women's shelter, emphasized how important support is for women in emergency situations. In Upper Franconia, the association advocates for social justice and solidarity and offers a wide range of services, including child and youth welfare as well as advice for families, migrants and disadvantaged groups.

Diversity and equal opportunities in focus

The Paritätische in Bavaria is not only a link for over 60 member organizations from the social work sector, but also stands for values such as diversity, openness and tolerance. These principles are not only of central importance in social policy, but are also reflected in everyday life. The association is politically and religiously independent and is committed to a society based on solidarity in which everyone has equal opportunities.

Another highlight of the anniversary celebration was the presentation of current projects and initiatives with which the association would like to improve the quality of life of people in Upper Franconia. The committed work of the members shows that they have a good hand when it comes to supporting people in difficult life situations and helping them to represent their interests.

Outlook for the future

There will also be many challenges for the Paritätischen Upper Franconia in the coming years. With a clear focus on social justice, the association will continue to actively work on solutions to social problems. Data security is another topic that is increasingly coming to the fore. For example, from now on, emails with personal and sensitive data will only be sent in encrypted form for data protection reasons in order to ensure that the privacy of those affected is protected.

Here’s to the next 60 years! The Paritätische in Upper Franconia shows that a strong network of social services and a commitment to diversity, openness and tolerance are the key to a society worth living in.
