Tragic bathing accident in Lake Starnberg: Münchner drowns in front of the family

Percha, Deutschland - This afternoon (June 15, 2025) there was a tragic bathing accident at Lake Starnberg. A 32-year-old from Munich, who was on the road with his partner and five children, including an infant, jumped into the water around 1:30 p.m. and was no longer able to retire. Bavarian guests who noticed the emergency took the unconscious man out of the water and immediately started revival.

Despite all efforts, also through the alarmed water watch, the resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The man died at the scene of the accident. His partner and the children who were present at the time of the incident are now being looked after by a crisis intervention team. The Fürstenfeldbruck criminal police have taken over the investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident.
