Serious bicycle accident: 11-year-old injured in collision with truck!
A serious bicycle accident occurred on July 14, 2025 at 3:35 p.m. on Jachenhauser Weg near the St. Anna Bridge. An 11-year-old boy and his 16-year-old companion, both on the road with bicycles, drove downhill at high speed. Despite an approaching truck that had the right of way, they ignored the warning signal and drove across the intersection. While the 16-year-old was able to pass just before the truck, the younger crashed against his left side.
The 11-year-old was seriously injured in the collision and had to be flown to a clinic in Regensburg after a first medical care on site. So far, information about the current state of health of the boy is not known. According to reports, the injured driver did not wear a fall helmet. The use of the emergency doctor, two rescue landing and the fire brigade from Riedenburg for traffic control was also required. The Kelheim police and the Regensburg public prosecutor's office started investigating the course of the accident.
