Nuremberg in the state of emergency: Police prevents Clash at Großemo!

On Monday evening, July 7, 2025, there were heated political controversy in downtown Nuremberg. The police were on duty to recognize a highly explosive rally entitled "For democracy and the rule of law - will to recognize voters!" to be looked after, in which around 70 participants took part on the eastern side of Hallplatz. But on the opposite side, about 250 counter -demonstrators gathered among slogans such as "Nuremberg Nazi Frei" and "Musicians against Nazis".

around 7:10 p.m. the participants of the Pro rally started moving and formed a demonstration train through the city, while the counter-demonstrators chose an alternative elevator. In several places there were seating blocks, which the police recognized as meetings. Despite repeated request, a group refused to leave the assigned area, which meant that some people had to be carried away by the emergency services. In the course of the event, the officials took measures and initiated an investigation into an assault on enforcement officers and other violations of the Bavarian Assembly Act. The tense Situation ended at 9:00 p.m. after numerous police forces from different units were used.
