Bomb threat at the main train station: Police intervene quickly!

On Friday, July 18, 2025, a alleged bomb threat against a hotel on Halderstrasse triggered a large -scale police operation in the city center. Shortly after 10 a.m. the alarm went in, the police immediately arrived with strong forces and blocked the surrounding streets. This led to considerable traffic disruptions that also influenced local public transport.

The emergency services quickly set out to check the threat. With the help of explosive dogs they searched the hotel and the immediate surroundings, but found nothing suspicious. The situation calmed down around 1 p.m. when the police lifted the barriers. During the investigation, a 47-year-old suspect was arrested, which is now the focus of the investigators.
