Fraudal calls: This is how Upper Bavaria protects against the shock!

In the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria Süd, a wave of fraud calls shocked the citizens! Between April and June 2025 there were 17 successful cases in which unsuspecting victims handed over a total of over 2 million euros in cash and valuables to fraudsters. Older people in particular often fall victim to the perfidious stitch of "shock calls" and "wrong police officers". An alarming example occurred on June 26th when a 64-year-old from Garmisch-Partenkirchen handed over almost 20,000 euros to an unknown collection.

However, the police also have success in the fight against this wave of fraud: In cooperation with banks and attentive citizens, several frauds were prevented and some pick -up was arrested. The criminal police urgently warns: never pass on cash or valuables to strangers! Put on immediately if someone makes unusual claims on the phone and immediately contact the "110" police call! Also sensitize your relatives for these dangerous fraud!
