In the heart of Bayreuth there is a range of exciting news about the popularChristmas marketto. The festive market, which this year fromNovember 25th to December 23rdtakes place, once again brings taste, art and a happy atmosphere to the pedestrian zone of the city center. With around40 stalls, which offer delicious Christmas specialties, handicrafts and gift ideas, the city not only welcomes locals, but also attracts numerous visitors from the surrounding regions. Musical accompaniment by the school choir of the Graserschule and the brass ensemble of the Markgräfin-Wilhelmine-Gymnasium, under the direction of Katrin Schwarz and Klaus Hammer, ensure a festive atmosphere. The Christ Child will also be there to distribute small gifts to the children.

What is particularly pleasing is that Bayreuth This year is providing two free Christmas stalls for twin cities, local clubs, voluntary organizations and artists. Measure these booths2.6 x 2.4 metersand will offer throughout the market, with individual dates to be determined in coordination with the Office of Public Order. Those interested can present their own creative work, hold fundraising events or sell homemade gift items - however, participation with food or drink is not permitted. If you want to do a good deal with this, you should hurry up, because the deadline for registering applications is thisJuly 31st. Applications can be made in writing or by email to the Office for Public Order, Fire and Civil Protection.

A feast for the senses

When the Christkindlesmarkt opens its doors, it is not only celebrated with the great stands, but also with a varied program on the action stage. Here visitors can listen to choirs, theater groups and lectures. In addition, the bells of the town church, hospital church and castle church ring for the ceremonial opening, while Mayor Ebersberger and the Christ child take a tour of the market.

Another highlight is theAdvent raffle, which makes shopping even more exciting. With every purchase, visitors get the chance to take part in the raffle. The draws take place on Advent Sundays6 p.mwill take place on the main stage, although attendance at the drawing is required - otherwise a new draw will be carried out.

The traditional festival combines well-known elements with modern ideas and thus ensures a successful mix. The market is open daily, Monday to Thursday10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m, and on Friday and Saturday until9:00 p.mopen. On Sundays it opens at11:00 a.m.
