A tragic accident occurred in Jachenau on Friday morning. A 22-year-old motorcyclist lost his life when a driver from Schrobenhausen made a fatal mistake while turning. The driver, 51 years old, apparently overlooked the two motorcyclists who were coming from Vorderriß. The whole thing happened around 10:50 a.m. when she wanted to turn left from the Angerl parking lot onto the district road TÖL 24.
While the first motorcyclist was able to get out of the way in time, his colleague experienced a terrible fate: he collided head-on with the car and died from his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. Fortunately, the driver and the first motorcyclist were uninjured, while the last motorcyclist suffered a shock. The material damage amounts to at least 57,000 euros. The county road had to be closed in both directions from 10:50 a.m. to 3 p.m., resulting in a significant volume of traffic.
Emergency services on site
The alerted emergency services were quickly on site. The fire brigades from Vorderriß, Fall and Wallgau were deployed with a total of 20 personnel. They were supported by a rescue helicopter from Austria, two ambulances and the Krün water rescue service. Three police patrols also ensured traffic safety and the necessary documentation of the accident. The rapid response of the rescue workers was crucial in order to stabilize the situation on site as quickly as possible.
The incident not only caused horror among the emergency services, but also in the community. Accidents like this are always tragic and remind us how important it is to be careful on the road. Although the first two people involved were uninjured, the loss of a young life always remains a heavy burden on friends and family.
