Leipzig dismantles Augsburg: 6-0 thrashing in the Bundesliga clash!

The Bundesliga provides a spectacle, and the fans in Bavaria had several exciting games to watch over the weekend. In viable duels, the clubs were challenged to consolidate their positions and collect points.

There was a clear affair against RB Leipzig in the FC Augsburg stadium. Augsburg's last home win against the Saxons was on September 19, 2017. Now, however, they have to admit defeat with a clear 0:6. Yan Diomande gave Leipzig the lead in the 10th minute after a precise one-two with Rômulo. Rômulo himself increased the score to 2-0 just eight minutes later. Antonio Nusa didn't hide and made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute. An own goal from Augsburg keeper Dahmen in the 30th minute sealed the team's fate and made the score 4-0. Although Augsburg tried to win the game, Leipzig played clever defensively. Only Robin Fellhauer was able to take advantage of a significant chance in the first half in the 45th minute, but his shot was too central. Leipzig continued to shine in the second half: Assan Ouédraogo made it 5-0 in the 58th minute, and Castello Lukeba rounded off the dominant performance with a 6-0 win in the 65th minute.

Bayern continue to pull away

At the same time, there was a lot of excitement in the Allianz Arena, where Bayern took on Borussia Dortmund. In a thrilling game, Munich defeated Dortmund 2-1. Harry Kane gave Bayern a goal in the 1st minute, which was excellently prepared by Joshua Kimmich. Michael Olise then increased the score to 2-0 in the 90th minute, before Dortmund was able to reduce the score to 2-1 through Julian Brandt in stoppage time. Coach Thomas Tuchel's team pushed for an equalizer in the final stages, but Felix Nmecha missed the goal in the 91st minute. With this victory, Bayern consolidated their position at the top of the table, while Dortmund continued to lag behind their own expectations.

Relegated competition

A look at the table shows that some of the once big names in German football have to fight hard for their Bundesliga future. After various seasons in the lower house, clubs such as FC Nürnberg, Hertha as well as Arminia Bielefeld and 1. FC Köln are in strong focus. They look back on a long tradition, but recently they have had difficulty asserting themselves. Teams like SC Freiburg or Eintracht Frankfurt show how you can assert yourself in the league, while teams like 1. FC Saarbrücken or KFC Uerdingen 05 have already had to be patient in order to come back a bit.

The next round of the Bundesliga promises hot battles again - whether in the title race or in the relegation battle, every game counts!
