Three new tank fire engines for Aschaffenburg: More safety in the event of fires!
Good news has come to light in the Aschaffenburg district: the district office has decided to purchase three new tank fire engines. These ultra-modern vehicles will now support the volunteer fire departments in Alzenau-Hörstein, Laufach and Waldaschaff. This decision was recently announced in an official announcement by the district office, which only increases the anticipation of the official commissioning in the new year.
The new tank fire engines are specifically designed for use in forest and wildfires, which is more urgent than ever given the changing climate and more frequent vegetation fires. What particularly catches the eye is the impressive capacity of 3,000 liters of extinguishing water, which will give fire departments a decisive advantage in critical situations.
Funding and equipment details
A crucial aspect of the new procurement is the financial support from the government of Lower Franconia, which is providing a total of 310,500 euros. These funds come from the fire protection tax and were approved by the Bavarian State Parliament and the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior. The vehicles replace ancient tank fire engines, including the Hörstein fire department's TLF 8/18 model from 1983 as well as the models from Laufach (built in 1985) and Waldaschaff (built in 1991).
The new TLF-WB (forest fire fighting vehicles) not only offer the latest technology, but also a variety of practical functions. This includes the fire extinguishing centrifugal pump, which enables rapid water delivery, as well as a rapid attack device. With a crew that can be deployed in a squad (3 people) or in a squadron (6 people), the fire brigade is ideally equipped for challenging operations.
Technical highlights
Equipped with all-wheel drive and a special additional load for fighting vegetation fires, the new vehicles are prepared for any terrain. These designs from IVECO guarantee high ground clearance and safe driving behavior, which is essential when operating in difficult terrain. The all-wheel drive ensures that the front and rear axles run synchronously, which enormously improves traction on changing surfaces.
The new tank fire engines are an important step into the future of firefighting in the Aschaffenburg district. These regulations not only ensure the safety of the emergency services, but also make a significant contribution to protecting the environment. There is great anticipation and excitement until the new vehicles are officially put into service.
