On Saturday, October 28th, 2025, TSV Tröster Breitengüßbach suffered a bitterly needed defeat against the Aschaffenburg Baskets. With a narrow final score of 61:64, the team experienced its first defeat of the season under head coach Mark Völkl. The absence of Marlon Stephan and Jonas Klaus was particularly painful, as their absence placed additional strain on the team. Despite a committed performance, the home venue in the Hans-Jung-Halle could not carry the spectators to a victory.
The game was exciting and balanced from the start. After a few minutes it was 7:6 for Breitengüßbach, but the Aschaffenburg Baskets reacted quickly and pulled away with 9:13. A short recovery allowed Breitengüßbach to equalize to 15:15, but ultimately the first quarter was lost 19:21. Despite the defeat, Breitengüßbach remains in second place in the table with 8 points, level on points with Leipzig, just one win behind leaders Weimar.
High expectations for future games
