Ceremonial inauguration: New service center opened in Amberg!
On October 28, 2025, a new service center was ceremoniously inaugurated in Amberg, which is intended primarily to support church administrations and foundations in the diocese of Regensburg. Cathedral Chapter Johann Ammer opened the event and gave the guests a successful speech in which he emphasized the importance of supporting volunteers and pastors. “We have taken another step here to better support the 631 parishes in our diocese,” Ammer explained emotionally.
A total of 13 such facilities are planned in the diocese in the coming years, which will not only create a variety of opportunities for volunteers, but will also sustainably increase the efficiency of administrative work. Regional dean Markus Brunner made the former rectory on Sebastianstrasse available as an ideal location and described the use of the building as a “stroke of luck” for the pastors. Thanks also went to the Ordinariate management and the Diocesan Tax Committee for their valuable support of the project.
A place for community
The new facility offers employees ideal working conditions. Ammer explained that the service centers will provide essential support structures to enable “working with an open mind and an open heart.” One of the highlights of the ceremony was the consecration prayer, which asked for the blessing of the building and the new company car for official tasks. “We want to create a place here where everyone feels comfortable,” says Brunner.
The guests also had the opportunity to view the new premises and exchange ideas with each other. All of this underlines the new vision for the church administrations in the diocese, where efficiency and humanity should be the focus. “This center will make a significant difference,” said one participant at the celebrations.
Think outside the box
While the inauguration of the service center in Amberg represents a ray of hope for the region, there are also interesting developments in other areas. For example, Ravin's R500 crossbow takes hunting technology to new heights. With a maximum range of up to 100 yards and speeds of over 500 fps, it is particularly popular with hunting enthusiasts and scores with an integrated VersaDrive cocking system that offers both safety and control when shooting. You could easily go into raptures.
Aside from the topics of church and hunting, the weather in the coming days is also important. In New Hartford, for example, partly sunny, partly cloudy days are forecast on Wednesday with temperatures up to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A light wind chime provides fresh air, but also changeable weather. The next few days will continue to be characterized by a mix of sun and clouds.
