SV Wacker Burghausen: Big changes and new talents are starting soon!

SV Wacker Burghausen's preparation for the new regional league season begins next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. However, this start is accompanied by a significant change, as the club has to cope with a huge change with ten new additions. On the other hand, there are twelve departures that need to be compensated for. But the new sporting director, Karl-Heinz Fenk, remains optimistic and emphasizes that the formation of the squad is a common concern for the entire club. It is striking that coach Lars Bender did not give any instructions during this transition phase, which indicates a harmonious collaboration.

Squad planning is significantly influenced by Andreas Huber, managing director of Wacker Burghausen Fußball GmbH, as well as the ideas of sponsor and shareholder Sebastian Rothwinkler. A key aim of these new signings is to develop young talent from the region in order to attract them to paid football. The focus is particularly on players like captain Christoph Schulz and vice Felix Bachschmid, who are supposed to act as central figures in the team.

New additions and player changes

Overall, interesting signings were announced including:

  • Alexander Sorge (32) von Kickers Offenbach, 99 Drittligaspiele
  • Tom Kretschmar (26) vom FC Homburg
  • Marin Pucic (25) vom FV Illertissen
  • Faton Dzemailji (26) von Türkgücü München

Fenk also expressed confidence in the new squad, which includes many U23 players, and at the same time emphasized that the responsibility lies with the coaching team. Although no definitive goal for the season has been set, qualifying for the Bundesliga youth academy is an important project that the club management has firmly in mind.

Start of training and test games

The first training session will take place on June 22nd, followed by exciting test matches. The game kicks off on June 25th against TSV 1860 Rosenheim at 2 p.m. Further matches are against:

  • FC Spfr. Schwaig in Burghausen, 28. Juni, 17 Uhr
  • TSV Hollenbach in Burghausen, 29. Juni, 14 Uhr
  • SV Kirchanschöring, 2. Juli, 19 Uhr
  • Turnier bei DJK Wittibreut mit TSV Buchbach und TSV 1860 München II, 5. Juli

A special highlight are the test matches against Austrian teams, which will take place on July 11th against Union Gurten and on July 12th against SV Austria Salzburg.

Outlook for the new season

The first round of the cup starts a week after the test matches, and the league start is scheduled for July 26th. The coming season promises exciting challenges for SV Wacker Burghausen, which is ambitious and proactive. There is great anticipation and the club appears well equipped to master both the challenges and opportunities of the new season.
