Cyclist seriously injured: dramatic accident in Friedberg!
A serious accident caused a stir in Friedberg on Friday afternoon. How the Danube courier reported, an unfortunate incident occurred in Stätzling, more precisely in St.-Anton-Straße, which is in the immediate vicinity of FC Stätzling. A 60-year-old driver overlooked a 28-year-old cyclist while turning. Coincidentally, he was driving properly on the bike and footpath.
The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. when the driver wanted to turn right into a parking lot. He collided with the cyclist, who hit the left front of the vehicle and was thrown over the hood. The fall on the asphalt resulted in the cyclist sustaining serious head injuries despite his helmet. Among other things, he suffered heavily bleeding wounds in the area of his jaw and cheekbone.
Rescue and damage
The emergency services immediately took the seriously injured cyclist to the hospital in Friedberg. However, the severity of his injuries could not be accurately assessed on site, which makes the situation even more worrying. His racing bike, which was badly damaged in the accident, suffered a broken frame, which amounts to around 6,500 euros in material damage. In comparison, the car only had a scratch on the hood, resulting in an estimated damage of around 500 euros.
